Nikki Claxton
Nikki Claxton
Jazz/ Lyrical/ Contemporary/ Liturgical Choreographer

Inspired by her desire to teach dance, New Haven, resident Latisha "Nikki" Claxton began dancing at the age of six. After studying locally for for a number of years, Nikki traveled to NYC to study at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. It was at Alvin Ailey she began to seriously study Ballet, Horton Modern, Jazz, Dunham Modern, and West African Dance. During her time at Ailey she also danced in the repertoire shows, and began to learn the art of choreography. In additional to Ailey, she also danced and choreographed for Dee Dee's Dance Center, "Black Nativity" and various shows for the City of New Haven.

Currently, Nikki teaches dance at Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School in New Haven. She is also a Master Jazz instructor and teaches Contemporary dance at the Westport Dance Center. Nikki loves teaching dance to students of all ages, and is also the mom of one son, Roland. She Has always had a passion for dance, and plans to continue to offer classes that are challenging and inspiring for all who "Love To Dance" well into the future.

Hip Hop/ Lyrical / Liturgical Choreographer/ Performer

New Haven resident Marvin Browning, Jr., began dancing as early as the time he started walking. Enrolling in his first dance class at the age of 13 at Dee Dee's Dance Center Marvin Studied Hip Hop, Horton Modern, Jazz, and Ballethnic. After studying dance Marvin quickly learned how to Choreograph. Soon he began teaching Hip Hop and making a name for himself. Marvin has Choreographed for numerous events including "The Old School Fresh Fest Reunion 2010" (Bridgeport,CT), " The New Haven Arts & Ideas Festival 2009", Multiple Shows for Dee Dee's Dance Center, and Steppin' Out Dance Centre of Branford.

Currently, Marvin teaches in Hamden for The High Ville Charter School, in Branford for Steppin' Out Dance Centre, and also in Westport for Westport Dance Center. Marvin enjoys teaching to students of all ages, and really enjoys working with children. He eats, sleeps, and breaths dance, and hopes that he can share his passion for the art by teaching those who also love to dance.
